Love Your Pits Natural Deodorant Review

Love Your Pits natural deodorant is made by a brand called Lotus Therapies Whitstable. The brain behind the brand is a wonderful lady called Caroline who offers other products such as lip balms, skin balms, and perfumes along with therapies like reflexology, hydrotherm massage, and ayurvedic facial massage.

Caroline sent me through one of her natural deodorants as a starter kit to try and my review is below.

A natural deodorant is a staple in a zero waste lifestyle and ideal for eco conscious people

Love Your Pits Natural Deodorant Review

Love Your Pits natural deodorant comes in a little metal tin. Like many natural deodorants that I’ve seen, this is a paste formula that you apply directly to the underarm, rubbing into the skin.

The natural deodorant comes with a plastic spatula to scoop the paste out of the tin. Also included is a leaflet by Breast Cancer Care that shows you how to check your breasts, and a cotton drawstring bag.

Ingredients: coconut oil, arrowroot powder, sunflower seed oil, diatomaceous earth, kaolin clay, sodium bicarbonate, candelilla wax, tocopherol, patchouli oil, lime oil, vitamin e, calendula flower extract.

Other information: Vegan and not tested on animals (yay!)

Using The Love Your Pits Natural Deodorant

The Love Your Pits deodorant comes in a metal tin that easily opens simply by pressing down on a small area. I find this quite useful, as sometimes I struggle to pull metal tins open. The little spatula is great for getting the deodorant out of the tin rather than using your fingers, which can be messy. The formula is, in my opinion, soft, and may need refrigeration in the summer (I will update this once our summer arrives to clarify)

The deodorant applies nicely to the skin, melting on contact. The consistency is smooth and isn’t gritty whatsoever. The scent is quite strong but fades after 10 minutes or so.

I have found that the Love Your Pits deodorant works very well and a little goes a long way. I’ve had no problems with odour or feeling sticky. I’ve also not experienced any staining on my clothes. This is because the deodorant sinks into the skin, rather than sitting on top like some brands do.

Love Your Pits natural deodorant is one that actually works well and is great for eco conscious people

Final Thoughts

I really love that the deodorant comes with a Breast Cancer Care leaflet, which encourages you to check your breasts after applying the deodorant. The plastic spatula is useful, but I do wish it’d been made from metal or wood instead. The scent of the patchouli and lime is a little strong for my liking, and a scent that I’ve discovered that I don’t like. I think I would prefer the ylang ylang and neroli, as that’s a scent I know that I like. So that’s something I’ll change when re-purchasing the deodorant.

Overall I am extremely happy with my Love Your Pits natural deodorant. It does exactly what it’s supposed to. And as I mentioned above, I love the focus on health by encouraging you to check your breasts.

The starter pack retails at £12 and you can buy replacement tins for £10. For more information and to make a purchase, please visit the Lotus Therapies Whitstable website.

Wow the diatomaceous earth I used to give to my hens! Both on and over their food and as a dusting powder… Loads of benefits in that..it is also really good for keeping ants away from your doors it’s completely safe esp for pets and young children running free! There are other health benefits for humans too so seeing it marked in this product is amazing! I have never thought of using a deo that is rubbed on… I did try roll ons but hated I may have to give it a go!

The spatula is so practical otherwise it could get really messy. I’ve tried something similar to this from Lush so looks good x

I’ve thought a bit about trying to find a good natural deodorant that works well, as I have read so much lately about the harmful effects of many deodorants. It’s especially telling that this deodorant includes the leaflet about checking your breasts, as one of the effects I have read about is the possibility of many deodorants contributing to breast cancer. It’s fantastic that this brand works well and doesn’t leave you feeling smelly or sticky. Not transferring to your clothing is a wonderful plus as well.

I have not heard of this brand before but I am always on the lookout for eco friendly brands especially when it comes to deodorants.

This does sound really interesting and I’d love to find out more!! I’ve heard so much about natural deodorants recently I’m just concerned they won’t work quite as well as non natural ones but I should really just try them for myself!

oh this is really interesting to read as I’ve also been experimenting with alternatives this last couple of years – (and have two smelly boys in my house!) will check this one out as I’d not heard of it before.

Oh yes, I’m with you on the plastic spatula, that would be great in a sustainable material…

Wow this is so different from any other product I’ve seen before. Great that they include a leaflet on checking yourself too. I think I would prefer the ylang ylang scent too.

Never tried this one yet but since it’s natural, I think I would give this a try. Hopefully it will meet my expectation.
