PitRok Men’s Deodorant Spray Review

The PitRock crystal spray deodorant is ideal for people wanting a natural deodorant

I have sort of made it my mission to test out natural deodorants to find which ones truly work, and which do not. But, I didn’t stop to think about getting my partner to test any out for me to help out the guys. So when I was sent the PitRok men’s crystal spray deodorant by Big Green Smile, of course, I roped him into getting involved. I will refer to my partner in this post as C.

About The PitRok Men’s Deodorant

The PitRok crystal spray deodorant is by the same people who make the solid crystal deodorant. But instead of the solid crystal, this deodorant is in liquid spray form.

Like many other natural deodorants, this spray works by suppressing bacteria, which is what actually causes body odour. According to the website, this deodorant spray does not use aluminium zirconium or aluminium chlorohydrate. It has also been dermatologically tested.

This PitRock deodorant spray is not tested on animals, nor does it contain any animal derived ingredients. It’s vegan and free from SLS/SLES, Silicone, and Propylene Glycol.

The deodorant comes in a black plastic bottle which is recyclable and stated near the bottom of the label.

Using The PitRok Men’s Spray Deodorant

The instructions on the bottle say to spray onto freshly cleansed skin, immediately after a bath or a shower. The product is meant to dry down in approx 1 minute.

It has got a strong deodorant-y artificial smell to it. I can’t even begin to explain what it smells like because the scent isn’t listed. The deodorant is just listed as a fragranced spray. The pump nozzle on it is decent and gives a good, even and fine mist.

For C, the suggestion application is an issue. He showers in the evening, meaning that his skin is not freshly cleansed or damp in the morning in order to apply this. C is also pretty fussy when it comes to products. He doesn’t want to have to faff around doing extra steps, so having to wash or wet his underarms again first thing was a no go. And I don’t blame him. He has a lot of running around to do in the morning getting himself ready to leave early so he can take our son to nursery. But, for the review, he did give it a go.

Although the spray gives a nice fine mist, C found that it never made it onto his skin and it just collected on his underarm hair before dripping off, down his sides. Holding the spray closer did mean the spray reached the skin, but then meant he had more runoff from the product down his sides.

C tried the PitRok deodorant spray on both damp underarms and dry underarms. Surprisingly, the spray worked perfectly fine on dry underarms. C is a gardener by trade, and so does manual work all day. After a long day, he didn’t smell at all! Which surprised me as I thought that it wouldn’t work on dry skin.

Final Thoughts

I think that this spray crystal deodorant is a great idea, but unfortunately, it just doesn’t work for my partner. Although the deodorant worked and he had no body odour, the application was an issue. I think that this would work well for someone who showers in the morning and doesn’t have a tonne of underarm hair that blocks the fine mist reaching the skin. There is a woman’s version, which, for women who shave their underarms, I feel would work really well since I tried this men’s version myself and the application is fine.

The pricing is super reasonable and very affordable at £4.99 for the 100ml bottle, which you can purchase directly from Big Green Smile*.

Have you tried any of the PitRock deodorants?

My boyfriend is vegan and tries all natural products as best he can – I’ll be telling him about this one as I know he’s keen for a natural deodorant currently x

I’ve not tried pit rock deodorants. .. it’s interesting that underarm hair stops it being applied as well…I’ll certainly keep that in mind should I come to order pit rock spray…it probably wouldn’t work on my husband as like c he has underarm hair. Thanks for the honest review x

I think it’s due to the sheer amount of underarm hair my partner has. The mist is fine, so never reaches the skin in the same way a pressurize aerosol spray would. The solid deo by PitRok would be much better. I think the spray would be idea for women who shave their underarms, and men that do, too x

I’m not sure my dh would like this. He doesn’t have time for anything fussy like your partner. Did the run off stain at all?

No staining at all. I think the crystal rock deo would be better than the spray, IMO.

I tried the Pitrock solid version but was not too impressed. I still have it, so may give it another go. At the moment it languishes in my toiletries cupboard,

What didn’t you like about it? Mine worked to stop smells really well 🙂

I’ve not heard of this before! I’ve been using Lynx all the time as just a go to brand. Might need to try this!

I’ve been looking into eco friendly deodorants lately and a few crystal based ones came up! I might give this one a try! (p.s love your blog!)
