On The Go Design – Eco Lifestyle Product Review

Want to enjoy time outdoors but without lugging a bag around just to carry your flask? These flask holders by On The Go Design are genius and allow you to go hands free or clip your drink to your belt/bag

On The Go Design is a UK based business created by a lady called Sarah-Kate. Sarah-Kate has always been crafty and having a family opened up a whole new world of things to create. Whilst being a stay at home parent, she started selling her handmade products to help make ends meet. Eventually, Sarah-Kate wanted to specialise in products that were made from beautiful fabric and could help families get out and about whilst being kind to the planet. This is how On The Go Designs came to be.

WaterOnTheGo – Water Bottle Carrier

The WaterOnTheGo carriers are made from cotton and are available in two styles; one with an adjustable strap to be worn across the body or over the shoulder, and one with a carabiner clip to clip onto a bag or belt. Both of the carriers will hold a water bottle/flask with a capacity of 500ml.

As a family, we have (many) Klean Kanteen bottles and for the sake of the review and those who have Klean Kanteen bottles, here are the sizes the WaterOnTheGo carriers hold that we’ve tested:

WaterOnTheGo with strap – comfortably holds the kids 12oz/355ml, 16oz/473ml wide mouth insulated, 18oz classic and the 20oz/800ml classic.

WaterOnTheGo with carabiner – comfortably holds the kids 12oz/355ml, the 16oz/473ml wide mouth insulated and the 18oz classic.

Both of the WaterOnTheGo carriers are fantastic. My backpack is usually full with my medication so, there’s no room for a flask inside and the pockets on the side of the back aren’t deep enough for my flask (Mine has fallen out before!). Being able to clip a carrier onto my backpack so I can take a flask out with me is really handy. Before I would just carry it in my hand.

My son loves the carrier with the strap, as he loves to feel grown up carrying his kids Klean Kanteen flask. I also love using this when I am not carrying my backpack but still need a drink. I actually used this when I went to Weleda HQ recently. It allowed me to carry my flask around hands-free so that I was able to carry my camera bag and snap photos with my Canon DSLR. Super useful!

OnTheGoSandwich – Reusable Sandwich Wrap

The OnTheGoSandwich wraps are made from cotton with a wipe clean ripstop inner and velcro fastener. The ripstop is food safe, and so these wraps are a fantastic, reusable alternative to plastic sandwich bags and clingfilm. My son loves going on picnics and is due to start school in September. So, having this reusable sandwich wrap is super handy.

Simply place your sarnie in the middle and fold the edges over before securing closed with the velcro fastener. The wrap also doubles up as a mat to eat your food off.

I love the OnTheGoSandwich* wrap. It’s really easy to use and clean. And, once used, the wrap folds up super small so there’s no bulk to worry about.

Final Thoughts

I really rate the OnTheGoDesign products. They’re very well made and extremely useful. I think the drink bottle carriers are great for school kids and families who like to get out and about. The sandwich wrap is perfect for anyone who takes a packed lunch to work or school – it’ll save you money and help save the planet, too.

All of the OnTheGoDesign products are affordable, starting from only £5 and going up to £10.

fab stuff. I love the idea of the bottle carrier with strap. It would be perfect for taking on dog walks when I don’t want to carry a big bag, and I can’t be carrying a bottle in my hand while holding the dog lead.
I have a sandwich wrap by another maker (who sadly is no longer around so been trying to find a similar one..) and it’s an amazing product, I will be needing one myself soon now I’m starting to get back into work… at the mo I use my daughters but she’ll be wanting it back soon when she starts having packed lunches lol .

I have both these products and can highly recommend. The sandwich wrap is incredibly versatile and a perfect alternative to cling film & plastics. Washes easily & protects sarnies keeping them fresh.
