The XO Flo is a menstrual cup that’s made in the USA by GladRags. The name probably sounds familiar, and that’s because they’ve been around for a long time selling cloth pads. It came as no surprise to me that a menstrual cup was added to their range. GladRags kindly sent me an XO Flo to try out and to write a review.
It’s Aromatherapy Awareness Week! I use essential oils on a very regular basis – from my DIY skincare and health, to using them in zero waste cleaning. The theme for this year is aromatherapy and mental health. As someone who suffers with depression and anxiety, this really struck a chord with me. I’ve started using a roller blend to help me get to sleep, and to help calm me down. When I’m feeling low, I pop a citrus blend in the diffuser to help ‘pick me up’.
I’ve selected 2 massage oils and roller blends to help you unwind, destress and fight those aches. View Post
Faith In Nature is a brand I’ve used on and off for a few years, but ditched when I started purging plastic and switched over to shampoo bars. It never occurred to me that my son and partner may not get on with shampoo bars, which sadly was the case. As I’ve mentioned SO many times before, do what you can when it comes to being green or zero waste. I try to reduce as much plastic as possible in my life. But, if the plastic free alternative isn’t working for myself or my family, then I’m not about to continue using something that isn’t working
Big Green Smile were kind enough to send me a bottle of shampoo and conditioner from the Brave Botanicals range by Faith In Nature. View Post
If you haven’t realised, talk of plastic pollution has been a pretty well talked about topic. And it’s no surprise really when you consider that by 2050 there will be more plastic in the oceans than fish. Also, 70% of fish in the River Thames¹ and 90% of seabirds² have plastic in their gut! That’s scary, right? Our throwaway society is killing marine wildlife and we can all make small changes to help make a difference.
For June, the Marine Conservation Society are running a campaign called #PlasticChallenge in which they are encouraging people to ditch single use plastics. View Post
TW: Emetophobia, Vomiting, Choking, Death.
This is a topic that’s actually really hard for me to talk about. Not because talking about the phobia is an issue, but how it came about. For those that are wondering, Emetophobia is the fear of vomiting or seeing someone else vomit. According to Anxiety UK, more women suffer with it than men.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always really hated it when other people have vomited around or near me. But it was never a phobia. I would just cover my ears or walk out of a room to get away from it as the sound was something that really grossed me out. View Post
Most of you will know that I live in the rural countryside, in beautiful Suffolk. But what many don’t know is that we are not hooked up to the national grid, and so rely on heating oil and our fireplace to warm our home during the colder months.
Like with anyone, I am always looking for ways to save money. But making savings for heating is pretty difficult since there are no switching providers like you do with gas.It also gets really cold here in the winter, meaning we get through firewood pretty quick.
So when Firemizer got in touch and asked if I wanted to try out their product, of course, I bit their hand off! View Post

Tackling Textile Waste
Did you know that there is an issue with textile waste? Just take a look at these statistics per year:
- UK produces 1.3 million tons
- EU produces 4.3 million tons
- USA produces 11 million tons
- China produces 20 million tons
This is a huge problem and this waste ends up polluting landfills. Fast fashion is a real issue, and one of the top polluters in the world. View Post
